Welcome to Green Lettuce
Inspired by the culture, spices and living in India, the chefs at Green Lettuce
create tantalizing Chinese and Indian food--traditional and original-- combined
that will certainly have you coming back for more!
The owners of Green Lettuce were born and raised in India. With a passion for
cooking and an array of marvelous spices they created a fusion of traditional Chinese
dishes with local Indian spices. The owners brought this concept to Vancouver in
hopes that people would love spicy Chinese food just as much as them! The late
food critic James Barber visited the restaurant on several occasions and shortly after
his articles that raved about the chilli dumplings and green beans, Green Lettuce
became an instant hit in Vancouver!
Green Lettuce is the first Indian style Chinese food restaurant in the Lower Mainland.
The first location was established in 1999 in Vancouver with a humble seating of 60
people on Kingsway still in operation. In 2003, Green Lettuce expanded to Surrey at
Boundary Plaza (64th Avenue and 120th Street) with a seating capacity of 110.
"We believe in quality and quantity of food while getting excellent service from our
friendly and multilingual team. That is the 'Green Lettuce Experience' and we pride
ourselves on this".
